| Along with Half Yellow Face, scout Hairy Moccasin signed up with Lt. James Bradley at what was then the Crow Indian Agency to serve for six months from April 10, 1876. He was on detached service with Major Marcus Reno, but was assigned to the Custers column on June 25. He left the Custer group about 3:15 the afternoon of June 25, joined Strike Bear on the Top of the ridge and was in the hilltop fight for a short time. After the battle, he reported to Col. John Gibbons Montana Column and then returned to Crow Agency with Whiteman Runs Him and Goes Ahead. | ||||||||||
