Jon was born and raised in Hardin, Montana. He and his wife Christi have two children, an 12-year-old daughter named Darci and an 9-year-old son named A.J. Jon started as a stage manager for the Reenactment in 1990 and has for the past five years been the organizer for the Custer Riders. One of Jon’s favorite pastimes is caring for and riding his horses; he finds that his knowledge in this helps him greatly in getting the troopers together. Jon enjoys meeting all the people who come to participate in the Reenactment. They are from different places and have many different backgrounds. Jon portrays Major Reno. He enjoys golfing, team roping, skiing and fishing. His company, Matovich Oil, has been in business for 40 years and has supported the community of Hardin in many ways. |
